The KP Fund was created in November 2014 by a group of Krista's friends and family to help support Krista during her journey to recovery. Krista is an amazing spirit who inspires us all to live life to the fullest. Her story is below:
In March 2014, shortly before her 32nd birthday, Krista Pinsonneault, a high school history teacher at Drury High School, was diagnosed with stage 2 Hodgkins Lymphoma. What was supposed to be a relatively “easy” treatment regime turned much more complicated in July when her rather “traditional” cancer became refractory (a fancy word for extremely stubborn and resistant to chemotherapy). As a result, our good friend, colleague, teacher, and mentor has had to endure a much more difficult path toward recovery, one which will include a clinical trial in Boston over the next two years.
Despite her diagnosis and many setbacks, Krista’s spirit has remained nothing short of positive and upbeat. She refuses to let her cancer define her and she has brought hope and courage to those fighting their own battles right beside her. Krista is an inspiration to us all and that is why we are asking for your support. Any donation, big or small, will be greatly appreciated. All donations will go directly to Krista to help with her treatment and medical expenses.
We encourage you to visit Krista’s blog www.prettywittyand.wordpress.com to learn more about this amazing and inspirational member of our community and to leave words of encouragement for her as she continues to fight this battle. We thank you for your consideration.
